Steve joined the Evolution Funding board in February 2019 following investment from mid-market private equity investor LDC.
A skilled CEO, he draws on over a decade of delivering great experiences for customers while being focused on building sustainable growth at technology-led businesses.
Before joining us, Steve was CEO of comparison and switching service uSwitch until July 2018, where he led an MBO with LDC in 2013 and led the sale of the business to ZPG plc. for £190m in 2015.
Chief Executive Officer
Founding shareholder and director Lee is responsible for setting our vision and strategic objectives, the management of our senior leadership team and engagement across our key stakeholders.
Lee graduated from Nottingham Business School with a BA Hons in Financial Services, and joined the motor finance lender Wagon Finance. Wagon was acquired by Abbey National Bank PLC, which then purchased Lombard Motor Finance forming First National Motor Finance. During his career at First National, Lee held various management roles across sales, new business operations and consumer risk management.
Lee also spent time seconded to a business transformation team that reported to the executive board. Working with KPMG, the team looked at business process redesign, using then emerging web technologies. This early insight into digital technology has driven Lee’s passion for leveraging our competitive advantage through the use of technology and process automation to improve and enrich customer experience and outcomes.
Group Executive Director
Upon graduating in engineering from the University of Birmingham, Jeremy worked for two and a half years with Baxter Healthcare in product development, sales and marketing. Jeremy then led a small team in a charity fundraising and Guinness Word Record breaking adventure driving a taxi 21,691 miles from London to Cape Town and back. The main sponsor was Lombard Motor Finance.
Jeremy then joined Lombard Motor Finance as a graduate trainee, progressing from Account Executive through Sales Manager and finally Area Manager, responsible for the largest region within the company – 50 members of staff, generating and underwriting £120M+ turnover and £20M+ dealer funding.
Upon being made redundant in November 2002, Jeremy founded Evolution Funding in December 2002 and has loved the journey ever since.
After gaining his degree in English Language and Literature from Newcastle University, Chris started his career in motor finance at Lombard Motor Finance in 1997 as an Account Manager.
In 2000 he moved to First National Motor Finance (FNMF) as their Sales & Development Manager, responsible for identifying internal and external training needs, product development and designing delivery programmes.
His change of role in 2002 to National Account Manager saw him join the team responsible for looking after FNMF’s ‘Top 100’ dealer groups.
Chris joined Evolution in 2003 as Account Manager, moving up to take the role of Sales Director in 2013. Chris is responsible for five Regional Sales Directors and 50+ account managers.
Kevin joined the Evolution Funding board in February 2019 following investment from mid-market private equity investor LDC.
He brings to the company over 25 years of experience in the F&I industry, holding a number of senior positions in that time.
Kevin is currently FD of Aurajoki Europe Limited – previously part of Dollar Financial Group – at one time the largest payday lender in the UK and owner of The Money Shop.
Chief Innovation Officer
Paul joined Evolution in July 2019, bringing to the business over 20 years’ experience in software development, IT infrastructure, data science and digital customer experience development. He has held numerous senior level appointments, including Chief Innovation Officer at Capita Travel and Events, part of Capita plc.
Prior to this, Paul was Group Director of IT for Maybourne Hotel Group, and previous to this, held various positions at HRG including Group Director of Technology and Product Development and, simultaneously, Chief Information Officer (Travel Platform), for HRG’s wholly owned expense management company, Fraedom. Paul has board level oversight of our software development, IT hardware and projects team.
Tim joined the Evolution Funding board in February 2019 following investment from mid-market private equity investor LDC.
With over 25 years in business and finance, Tim has built a strong reputation as a skilled senior executive leader with a proven ability to position businesses in their market and grow them.
With specialist sector knowledge in motor finance/leasing and agriculture finance, Tim’s commercial experience is complimented with a deep understanding of business governance, risk management and financial service regulation having held FCA Approved Person status for a number of Significant Influence Functions.
Most recently, Tim held the position of MD of Lex Autolease, and prior to this, MD of SME Banking for Lloyds Banking Group.
Lawrence joined the Evolution Funding board in February 2019 following investment from mid-market private equity investor LDC.
He brings 20 years’ experience as a UK private company investor and finance professional.
His career started in corporate finance at SBC Warburg/UBS in the late 90s, advising on a number of high-profile UK and cross-border M&A deals. Taking a more entrepreneurial route, Lawrence then joined a VC-backed online travel business, which grew rapidly before being acquired by Lastminute.com. Whilst still at Stage Capital, he worked with LDC on the Blue Bay Travel investment, drawing on his online digital experience in the sector.
Lawrence graduated in Economics from the University of Durham.
