Chief Executive Officer
Founding shareholder and director Lee is responsible for the delivery of our strategic objectives, management of our senior leadership team, compliance and regulatory oversight and the groups focus on technological innovation, process and product design.
Lee graduated from Nottingham Business School with a BA Hons in Financial Services, and joined the motor finance lender Wagon Finance. Wagon was acquired by Abbey National Bank PLC, which then purchased Lombard Motor Finance forming First National Motor Finance.
During his career at First National Lee held various management roles across sales, new business operations and consumer risk management.
Lee also spent time seconded to a business transformation team that reported to the executive board. Working with KPMG, the team looked at business process redesign, using then emerging web technologies. This early insight into digital technology has driven Lee’s passion for leveraging our competitive advantage through the use of technology and process automation.
Group Executive Director
Upon graduating in engineering from the University of Birmingham, Jeremy worked for two and a half years with Baxter Healthcare in product development, sales and marketing. Jeremy then led a small team in a charity fundraising and Guinness Word Record breaking adventure driving a taxi 21,691 miles from London to Cape Town and back. The main sponsor was Lombard Motor Finance.
Jeremy then joined Lombard Motor Finance as a graduate trainee, progressing from Account Executive through Sales Manager and finally Area Manager, responsible for the largest region within the company – 50 members of staff, generating and underwriting £120M+ turnover and £20M+ dealer funding.
Upon being made redundant in November 2002, Jeremy founded Evolution Funding in December 2002 and has loved the journey ever since.
As CEO of the Evolution Funding Group, Jeremy leads strategy, growth, investment and company performance.
After gaining his degree in English Language and Literature from Newcastle University, Chris started his career in motor finance at Lombard Motor Finance in 1997 as an Account Manager.
In 2000 he moved to First National Motor Finance (FNMF) as their Sales & Development Manager, responsible for identifying internal and external training needs, product development and designing delivery programmes.
His change of role in 2002 to National Account Manager saw him join the team responsible for looking after FNMF’s ‘Top 100’ dealer groups.
Chris joined Evolution in 2003 as Account Manager, moving up to take the role of Sales Director in 2013. Chris is responsible for five Regional Sales Directors and 50+ account managers.
Key Accounts Director
Paul began his career in the motor finance industry in 1991, spending twelve years with the Bank of Scotland’s Motor Finance Division, where in 2000 he became the youngest Director across the entire group and went on to lead the group’s subprime business, Finax.
Paul joined Evolution Funding in 2012, becoming our Director of Key Accounts and taking responsibility for the strategy, growth and development within the UK’s Top 100 franchised dealer groups.
Since November 2013 the Key Accounts division has seen significant growth, winning some of the UK’s largest top dealer groups and used car supermarkets.
Paul is also responsible for Evolution Extra, our ‘Rate for Risk’ dealer offering. He sits on our Compliance Committee as deputy chair.
Alan joined Evolution Funding in February 2015 and has motor trade experience of over 18 years.
His motor finance expertise dates back to 1999 where he was handed his first finance and insurance dedicated role.
After progressing through motor dealership positions Alan held Key Account positions with GE Money and GMAC before joining an AM Top 100 dealer group in a F&I and Sales leadership role.
As Alan has held key positions with main stream funders he brings experience in delivering results for both our funding partners and our dealers.
His key areas of focus within Evolution Funding are the management of our My Car Credit brand, operational procedures, management of our Leisure & LCV division and project management.
Head of Dealer Services
Lucy started working in the motor industry in 2000, when she joined First National Motor Finance (FNMF) as part of the internal team handling the full finance application process of underwriting through to payouts.
In 2003, Lucy spent nine months in Greece as a tour guide and transfer representative, which allowed her to gain experience in public speaking and build her customer service skills.
Upon returning to the UK, Lucy joined Evolution Funding as part of an original team which has been instrumental in the growth of Evolution. Lucy went on to specialise in document checking and fraud prevention, becoming Payout Team Leader and then Payout Department Manager.
Lucy has been involved in the creation of an efficient paperless payout system, enhancement of DealerZone and development of our e-Sign and Sign Anywhere systems. She has also helped create and deliver our fraud and vulnerable customer training workshops.
As Head of Dealer Services, Lucy oversees Sales Support, Underwriting, and Payouts.
Kevin joined the Evolution Funding board in February 2019 following investment from mid-market private equity investor LDC.
He brings to the company over 25 years of experience in the F&I industry, holding a number of senior positions in that time.
Kevin is currently FD of Aurajoki Europe Limited – previously part of Dollar Financial Group – at one time the largest payday lender in the UK and owner of The Money Shop.
Glen graduated from Canterbury University, New Zealand, in 1999 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Management).
He went on to achieve his Chartered Accountancy qualification in 2003 whilst working for PFK Goldsmith Fox, came to the UK in the same year on a holiday visa and remained here.
Since coming to the UK, Glen has held various roles, including Auditor at the Audit Commission, Finance Manager with Virgin Management, FP&A Manager with Close Brothers Motor Finance and Interim Finance Manager with Intraining Group (Newcastle College), finally joining Evolution Funding in January 2016.
Head of Operations
Adam joined Evolution in June 2019, bringing to the business over 20 years’ experience in financial services, including 17 years in the credit industry at Capital One. He has held multiple senior leadership roles across Operations including Underwriting, Complaints Management, Customer Service, Operations Analysis, and Collections and Recoveries.
Adam’s role brings together our B2B support functions and he leads a program of process development, improvement and automation as well as bringing an analytical approach to decision making and a passion for developing people.
Group Legal Counsel
Richard joined Evolution Funding in May 2015 as Group Legal Counsel for both the group and all of its associated businesses and trading styles.
He qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and since then has spent his time in private practice, including a spell with the legal profession’s regulator, the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Whilst in private practice Richard has worked for international and regional law firms specialising in multiple disciplines of law.
He is responsible for the entire legal function at Evolution Funding and handles and coordinates all of the company’s legal requirements.
Head of HR
Angela joined Evolution Funding in October 2014, initially as a consultant and then, with the growth of the company, going on to establish our HR department.
She is responsible for developing policies, procedures and managing our ever-growing team of people across all of our brands.
Angela’s career started at HSBC where she held both specialist and generalist HR roles, including Senior Employee Relations Specialist for 7 years and leading a team as a Senior HR Manager for IT functions.
From there she developed an interim consulting career working with Rolls Royce, Experian and Gala Coral Group, advising on restructures, TUPE, project management and tribunal work.
She holds a degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and is a Chartered Member of the CIPD.
Head of Compliance
After gaining a BA (Hons) in Financial Services from Nottingham Business School, Sam started her career in motor finance in 1997, joining Lombard Motor Finance as an Account Manager.
In 2000 she moved to First National Motor Finance (FNMF) as an Account Manager before being promoted to Regional Operations Manager at the Leeds office. In 2003 she moved to MotoNovo Motor Finance as an Account Manager, continuing a long career in the industry.
Sam joined Evolution in 2013 and after a year in Underwriting, moved into the compliance role. She oversees the compliance framework for the business and is responsible for the Risk and Compliance committee.
Sarah joined Evolution Funding in February 2016 having run her own design and marketing agency since 2005, of which Evolution Funding was a key client.
The agency’s work was featured in a best-selling business branding book, nominated for a national design award and featured in creative industries magazine Design Week.
Sarah is now responsible for strategizing and implementing the group’s marketing plans for our brands, as well as steering and managing the visual positioning and communications for each brand.
She oversees a team of designers and digital marketers and works in collaboration with the in-house development team.
Sarah holds a degree in Social Studies from Newcastle University and an Advanced Certificate from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Head of IT
Mitch joined Evolution Funding in 2012. He manages the development of our internal and external software systems and has been instrumental in taking our technology and innovation to new levels.
He has since built up a team of ten, consisting of highly skilled front and back-end developers and web designers.
Mitch has a range of development experience having previously worked in a software house, in-house, and within an agency environment.
He also holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Sussex.
